§02 / Frequently Asked

Inquiries addressed to the Syndicate.

01

What exactly is MAW?

A web-based text RPG where you play a crawler sent into a selected world. The narrative is run live by several specialized AI agents that coordinate. You decide by text or voice, the world reacts, everything is broadcast.

02

How does it actually play?

You type or dictate what your character tries to do. The AI Arbiter resolves the action by the rules. The game master describes the consequence. You see the map, your sheet, your inventory. You progress floor by floor in a living dungeon.

03

Is it free?

The tutorial (floor 0) is playable for free, with a replay cap. Beyond that, every paid tier grants a turn quota (daily/monthly, currently being tuned) plus access to more powerful AI models. No gameplay advantage sold à la carte. Quotas are public, never hidden.

04

Permadeath, really?

In Hardcore, yes — character deleted, end of story. In Standard, death costs your worn equipment and a percentage of your current-floor XP (target value differs solo/multi, being tuned). You keep the character, but every death leaves a trace.

05

Why several AIs and not just one?

Because a single prompt doing game master + arbiter + cartographer + director ends up doing all of them poorly. Each agent has a role, a prompt, a memory. The orchestrator coordinates them. Result: more coherent narrative, rules respected, less hallucination.

06

Which languages are supported?

French, English, Portuguese, Spanish. The chosen language applies everywhere: UI, agent narration, audio. No auto-detect: what you choose is what you get.

07

Are all seasons dungeons?

No. The engine is format-agnostic. Terre (Season 1) is a multi-level post-apocalyptic dungeon. But nothing prevents an open-world sandbox season, a classic linear narrative RPG, survival, kingdom management, or even mystery-box investigation. Each season defines its own format, its own rules, its own pace. The multi-agent engine adapts.

08

What happens to my data?

Email, character, game sessions: stored on Supabase (EU). Dictated audio: sent to Whisper/Groq for transcription, never retained. You can delete your account at any time. Details in the privacy policy.

09

Which platform?

Web, from any modern browser. No app to install. Optimized for desktop reading comfort, playable on mobile.

10

How long is a session?

Short to extended, up to your monthly cap. Everything persists: you can stop mid-action and pick back up hours or days later — the scene is exactly where you left it.

11

Can I play without a mic?

Yes. Keyboard and voice are interchangeable at any time — type a sentence, dictate the next, switch back. The mic is comfort, never a prerequisite.

12

What happens between seasons?

Your character is kept with its memory context, but titles, achievements and notable stats reset — no meaningful boost carries over. Survivors unlock a reserved zone with more lore and narrative material about the past season.

13

Solo or multiplayer?

Solo in V1. Multiplayer arrives in V2: light async by default (trace crossings, deferred exchanges), with synchronous / live options during events.

14

What's the cadence between seasons?

Target around 3-4 months per season, not a firm promise — independent studio. The public roadmap shows the current status.

15

Can I contribute or suggest?

Yes — Contact is open for feedback, suggestions, bug reports. The public roadmap is edited as we go: if an idea fits the vision, it lands there.
